BITS Pilani

The Birla Institute of Technology & Science, BITS Pilani, is an all-India institute for higher education.

A small school that started in the early 1900s, grew into set of colleges for higher education, ranging from humanities to engineering.  In 1964 all these colleges amalgamated to form a unique Indian University of International standing, called the Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani aka BITS, Pilani.

Over the decades, BITS has become a globally-recognised centre for knowledge, academic and research excellence.  It provides a learning experience that goes beyond the traditional curriculum, translating into real-world support for budding CXOs, aspiring entrepreneurs and treats its students as future job creators.  The main pillars of its immersive education are:

  • Practice School
  • Dual Course Learning Program
  • Incubation technology Driven Research
  • A Thriving Start-up Ecosystem

Since 2020, PARC is formally a Practice School Station of BITS, for both Practice School I & II, which are part of the academic curriculum.  Students have been contributing regularly to the community service efforts of PARC.

Gyan Bodh is an initiative run by BITS Pilani students.  They provide supplementary teaching & coaching to primary and secondary school students.  Experimentation with a hands-on discovery centre is part of this initiative.  A major achievement is three Gyan Bodh students have gained admission to BITS Pilani.

The students also curated an online teaching course to help teachers use free online teaching tools and make teaching easy in the new digital environment.  The course has video tutorials, PDF documents on various online tools, such as search engines, Google services and video conferencing solutions.  The course is self-paced and free of cost.

The PARC student team collaborated with Anthill to develop a colourful playground for children in Gyan Vihar, Pilani.
