About Student Team

Gandhiji’s maxim “See the good in people and help them”, fits so aptly for the student team of PARC.
A chance meeting of two BITSian students with the Director of PARC, who along with the Trustees of PARC realized the positive impact of students’ involvement for PARC and its vision, gave birth to the Student Division for PARC.

Over the last six years, many batches of BITSians have assisted PARC with various community projects to improve the lives of the under-privileged and provide them tools to support themselves. PARC gives the students a platform to experiment and engage in social development.

The student team assists PARC in conducting workshops, organizing health camps & rozgar melas. They also help present PATC’s vision to alumni. The Student Team also works to further PARC’s social outreach and increase publicity for it. The team has undertaken projects related to college-specific problems and offers innovative solutions to institute officials for immediate implementation.

The group acts as an important conduit between PARC and the BITSian Student Community. It is a point of contact between PARC and other student-wings of NGOs on college campuses. The team has helped collaborating with organizations such as NSS and Nirmaan, leading to a greater outreach and subsequently to a more significant impact on the community in Pilani.

The student team is PARC’s answer to continuity and sustenance. The team has continuous coming students every year, so there is no shortage of passionate and dedicated individuals ready to push the organization forward. They have the potential to take over the reins of PARC in the future as they transition from being students to alumni.

The Student Team today is comprised of students from BITS Pilani, Hyderabad and Goa campuses and boasts of over 50 members across several streams.

As each student offers a new perspective – a fresh set of young eyes into issues that PARC faces in its quest to make India more ‘AtmaNirbhar’, they exemplify what Gandhiji once said, “In a gentle way, you can shake the world”.

PARC & Practice School Station

Since the summer of 2020, PARC is formally a Practice School station of BITS for both Practice School I and II, which are part of the academic curriculum. Students from Pilani, Hyderabad and Goa campuses have already started their formal engagement with PARC through this academic activity and are making continuous and project-specific positive contributions to the community service efforts of PARC.  Showcases BITS confidence in PARC’s processes and work content. Also, students from BITS Hyderabad and BITS Goa are also being recruited to the PARC Student Division. The team has over 25 members across several streams and colleges today.

With each recruit comes an innovative solution to world problems. Each student offers a new perspective - a fresh set of young eyes into issues that PARC faces in its quest to make India more ‘AtmaNirbhar.’

The Student Division at PARC exemplifies what Gandhiji once said, “In a gentle way, you can shake the world”.  There are many among us who will take the chance to be involved.
